TCL owned company launched a new flagship smartphone in the market called Alcatel 5V. It comes under Alcatel 5 series phones but comes with better design and specs sheet compare to the Alcatel 5 which launched earlier this year. The company launched the Alcatel 5V at $199.99 price tag and available later this month for purchase in selected markets. The phone will available in Black and Blue color option.
Alcatel 5V design and specifications
Now the TCL joined the notch design smartphones race with its latest Alcatel 5V flagship smartphone. It comes with a notch design on the top of the display that carries a selfie camera, sensor and earpiece. There is a lit bit large bezel on the bottom of the display but still smaller than the many smartphones that offer 16:9 aspect ratio. On the back side, the phone comes with the similar reflective finish as the company’s Alcatel 3 and Alcatel 3V. The company called reflectively finish process Optical Vacuum Plating. The body dimensions of the phone are 153.7 x 74.55 x 8.5 mm and weighs 158 grams. On the back side, the dual camera placed vertically on the left side of the back panel.
Alcatel 5V features a 6.2-inch display that supports 720×1500 pixels of resolution and offers 19:9 aspect ratio. There is 2.5D Dragontrail glass on the top of the screen that protects the screen from accidental scratches. The phone also supports 88% screen-to-body ratio. The Alcatel 5V powered by octa-core Cortex-A53 CPU under the hood which clocks at 2 GHz along with MediaTek’s Helio P22 which also known as MT6762. There is 3 GB of RAM and 32 GB storage available storage on board with micro SD card slot on board.
There are dual camera sensors on the back side of the phone along with dual-tone LED flash. The 12-megapixel main camera with 1.25μm pixels and 1/2.8″ size and 2-megapixel secondary camera for depth information, enabling bokeh effects. The camera application comes with features like AI scene detection, burst shot, HDR, real-time bokeh. There is also electronic image stabilization and Google Lens baked. On the front side, there is an 8-megapixel camera with 1.12μm pixels and 1/4″ sensor size for selfies and video calls. The front camera also supports face beautification, real-time photo and video filters.
TCL Alcatel 5V runs on Android 8.1 Oreo operating system out of the box. The Alcatel 5V packed with 4,000 mAh capacity battery inside the body. There is a fingerprint scanner on the back side of the phone. The phone also supports Face Unlock feature that able to unlock the phone in just 0.5 seconds.
