It is an international discount supermarket chain with almost 10,000 stores in 20 countries around the world. Its first store in the U.S was opened in 1976 in Iowa. Today it has more than 2,000 stores across 36 states of the U.S with over 25,000 employees. Its headquarters are located in Batavia, Illinois. In 2021 it had total revenue of around 121.1 billion U.S dollars.

When was ALSF founded?

Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation was started 17 years ago on January 18, 2005, in Pennsylvania. It was a small campaign started with a little lemonade stand in the front yard of Alex’s home that made $2000 when she was just four years old. She asked to give money to doctors to find cure for all the children battling cancer. When she died, her parents officially turned that stand into an organization for fundraising for the cure of cancer in tribute to their daughter. Today it has raised more than $ 3 million, funding over 1000 research projects done in almost 150 institutions.

When do ALDI and ALSF have a partnership?

ALDI had a partnership with ALSF on 10 July 2019. In the last year, ALDI initiated a small strategy of ‘quarter forward’ that encouraged shoppers to donate to ALSF to help reach a goal of $1 million fund for the cure of cancer. Together they have raised more than three million dollars, funding over 1000 cancer research projects, since 2019.  It has been estimated that the rise in funds may reach to $10 million by the end of 2027. ALDI is promoting ALSF through its products and direct donations.

Lemon-themed ALDI Finds

ALDI is trying its best to support and contribute to ALSF for the cause of cancer treatment. This June 15, they are starting a new campaign of lemon-themed with ALSF logo products for their customers. They are also providing reusable bags created by the ALSF artists. ALDI would provide donations from the amount of profit from these items to ALSF. This will help support the families with children fighting cancer. ALDI already has achieved to donate up to $ 1 million this year. Shoppers can buy and help them reach their target of $ 50,000 this month.

One cup of lemonade to fight a cancer

Little efforts can be changed into big achievements. A little girl, Alex started selling one cup of lemonade at a time to donate to cancer research to help others to have a better and healthier life. She was brave to help find a cure for a disease that had no mercy on her life. Her lemonade stand is now Americas leading childhood cancer research and charity foundation. As per their motto “because a little change can make a big difference”, everyone can make a difference and anyone can have their own lemonade stand. If a four years old mind can think of a small stall to earn and donate then how come an elder earning person cannot contribute to bringing a smile to a faded tiny face?

Register your own stand and save thousands of precious innocent lives by just “your quarter forward”.
