Six new covers featuring the many characters of Avengers: Infinity War have arrived, bringing together a decade of the MCU. As Nick Fury says in The Avengers and the opening to the first Avengers 3 trailer, “There was an idea.” Not only within the universe, but that a series of films could pull together a disparate group of Marvel Comics characters and unite them for what could well be the biggest blockbuster of all time. And thanks to the success of films like Black Panther, Marvel has ended summer movie season as we know it while introducing the very concept of a shared cinematic universe.

As we gear up for the first of two major Avengers team-up films, the future of the MCU is a big question. But with a little over a month until Avengers: Infinity War hits theaters, fans will finally get answers to questions that have been growing for years. But even before the film arrives, the promotion is revealing secrets that help paint a better picture of what’s to come. EW’s Avengers: Infinity War coverage finally offered us the scope of the film while also providing a number of new covers highlighting the many characters of the movie. Now, Empire has joined the game.

Empire has released six new covers for Avengers: Infinity War in celebration of their issue-wide focus on the film and the whole of the MCU to date. Though not every character could be included, there’s still Avengers, Guardians, Wakandans, and, of course, the Mad Titan himself. You can check out each one in the gallery below:

Any new look at the costumes of the characters is interesting, but the various team-up covers and posters we’ve seen also seem to hint at pairings in the film. We know the God of Thunder will be off on a mission with Rocket and Groot, but we’ve learned that Thor and Thanos will get the most screen time in the movie. That means Thor will likely strike out on his own at some point - and may even meet a tragic end.

It’s also intriguing to see so many Black Panther characters on each cover. Though we don’t know how big a role Okoye and Shuri will have, it’s clear all involved with marketing the film know the appeal of any Wakandan resident. Black Panther won its fifth weekend at the box office, matching a feat previously only managed by Avatar and giving Marvel Studios a stellar start to a busy year.

The Avengers 3 issue of Empire will come with more info and images, along with a look at Ant-Man & the Wasp. That latter film certainly won’t match the hype of its two predecessors this year, but it will only help Marvel finish 2018 ahead of the competition. We don’t know how well Avengers: Infinity War will do, but expect more box office surprises for the MCU.
