On the heels of Apple officially announcing WWDC 2018 today, AltConf has released details for its week-long event as well. This year’s AltConf will feature two speaker tracks, two community labs and some special plans for podcasters. 20th Century Fox has turned the critically-praised survival horror game Alien: Isolation into a seven episode web series, and unveiled the trailer ahead of its release on IGN tomorrow. Released in 2014, Alien: Isolation followed Ripley’s daughter, Amanda, as she tried to uncover the truth of what happened to her mother and the Nostromo, fifteen years after the events of Alien. In her search for answers, however, she ends up fighting to stay alive on Sevastopol, a space station that has been invaded by a Xenomorph....

Medical device maker AliveCor has filed patent infringement claims against Apple and more in the past. Now the company has intensified its efforts by filing an antitrust lawsuit in federal court alleging that Apple has stolen its tech and used monopolistic power which has “injured competition, reduced consumer choice, and potentially damaged public health.” AliveCor filed the federal antitrust lawsuit against Apple in the Northern District of California yesterday and shared a press release highlighting its allegations....

I ordered the Fire TV the day it was released, and while it does have most of the popular streaming apps, and a decent set of games – some you can play with the included remote, and some require the game controller which is sold separately for $39. But I’ve been hoping for a burst of new apps to come along for the Android powered box. There has indeed been a boatload of apps added, and from what I can see, it looks like a ton of games as well as new streaming video and music services too....
